Hi, my name is Rosie Heartland. I am a qualified Transpersonal Arts Therapist and counsellor. In this post pandemic world, many people are suffering from anxiety, depression and the trauma brought on by not only the insecurities of these times, but also by adverse childhood experiences. Taking that leap to enter into therapy is very difficult and I understand how scary the thought of opening up to a stranger can be. I hope to offer you compassion, understanding and a listening ear, so you feel at ease within our therapeutic relationship and your well-being goals can be addressed through non-threatening Creative therapy.
During sessions, we will create a space in which you can explore your deepest thoughts and feelings at your own pace. Expressing yourself through art media allows you to come to terms with the things that are making life difficult for you. Sometimes, it is easier to draw a picture or create with clay when we cannot vocalise our unease.
This is important when your adverse experiences were pre-verbal. Perhaps as a small child you were frightened or unhappy and didn't feel safe. This experience is still within you and we call it your 'inner child' for whom caring attachment figures may not have been consistently available. Together we can help that inner child to express those feelings.
