I see a diversity of people facing into a variety of problems and struggles. This includes work related stress, relationship difficulties, mental health challenges, and the need to make sense of troubling or confusing past experiences. Anxiety, depression, understanding oneself in relation to ADHD or other aspects of neurodiversity, and facing into loss, are all areas addressed in therapy. I mostly work in person, but online and telephone sessions are also possible. Through my psychoanalytic psychotherapy training, I am able to provide more intensive and longer-term therapy. Once weekly therapy is the minimum I can offer.
My training is psychoanalytic and psychodynamic. That means I work with you to consider how the past might be affecting your present difficulties. Alongside the external issues you bring, we would also consider the internal. This may include working with trauma and its effects, and thinking about patterns in relationships, including relating to yourself.
An initial consultation is offered to explore your needs and hopes for therapy. The consultation is usually the first 2 therapy sessions. It is an opportunity to bring your difficulties, and to discover what it is like to work together. We can organise a 15 minute call ahead of any meeting, and I can answer the questions you may have.
