I have extensive experience of working within mental health and have practiced within the private (inpatient and outpatient), the NHS, and the Charity Sector. I am a BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and also a qualified Human Givens and Compassion Focused Therapist. I integrate experiential psychotherapy within my CBT practice which incorporates mindfulness, Emotion Focused Therapy and Schema Therapy. The CFT approach has been shown to be highly effective to ‘non-responders of CBT’ and particularly if they experience high levels of shame/self-criticism.
I am able to provide a non-judgemental and highly empathetic stance which in turn allows clients to feel heard and accepted. I specialise in working with trauma, long term health conditions, various types of anxiety, depression and eating disorders. I often incorporate 'chair work' into my practice which has significantly enhanced therapeutic change.
I really appreciate how hard it can be to face your fears but I am confident that any investment you make will reap significant rewards. I offer flexible arrangements for clients who wish to attend weekly or less frequently and can provide a brief solution focused approach or longer term psychotherapy.
