My name is Rodrigo and I am a Cognitive Behavioural and Cognitive Analytical Psychotherapist. I use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Cognitive Analytical Therapy (CAT) as my main approaches, however I'm also accredited Clinical Psychologist in Portugal. This means that I'm able to draw upon a number of different psychological approaches to meet the individual needs of my clients. CBT helps people learn how to identify and change the destructive or disturbing thought patterns that have a negative influence on their behavior and emotions
CAT is particularly helpful for understanding how early life events and relationships influence individual behaviour and emotions, and developing better ways of relating to our self and to others. CAT can also be used as a powerful adjunct to CBT.
I combine a warm and empathic approach to therapy with a close adherence to evidence-based psychological approaches that have been proven to work across a wide range of anxiety conditions and depressive disorders. I abide by the professional and ethical standards of the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy.
