I know first hand how difficult it is in taking the first steps when seeking help for mental health concerns, as well as finding a counsellor you can relate to. I appreciate it may not seem natural to open up to a stranger and ask for help. As your therapist and counsellor, I hope to gain your trust and comfortable enough to share what has lead you to consider therapy. I place an emphasis of inclusion in my role as a counsellor, this stems from my considerable experience of working across a range of settings and with diverse communities where I supported adults, adolescents and children with care and empathy.
As a person-centred (humanistic) therapist and counsellor, on our first meeting I will ensure that whatever you wish to discuss in the sessions is central, finding out what brought you to therapy. My specialism is working safely with people with anxiety, depression and trauma. And those who have gone through trauamatic experiences - past and present.
We live in challenging times and with the increasing awareness we hold around improving our mental health. Speaking with a qualified therapist and counsellor may be the next important step for you.
