I am trained both medically (1985) and in psychodynamic counselling (2013) and so have valuable experience in how both the mind and the body operate in healthy and unhealthy states, and how these parts importantly interact. What is happening in our unconscious is so very important in us all. Whatever the sources and maintaining factors in your suffering, I am able to explore your life story with you and help guide you to enable change and healing, or that would be my goal, so that you can find the way out of the prison that our suffering creates and to transform your way of being that frees you up to find a life that works for you.
I work very generally and take on patients with all kinds of issues. I would encourage you to talk about your self in an open way but respect what you may wish to keep to yourself. I would use what you bring to sessions to feed back to you what I feel maybe trying to be said and make suggestions and interpretations based on my training that may help you.
By forming a therapeutic relationship, we can work together, in a helpful but challenging way, to enable self-understanding to occur and thereby allow change to occur in ways that you desire, using kindness and self-compassion to enable you to make connections with your past and to determine what can be changed and not carried as a burden in to the present.
