Do you struggle with panic attacks or anxiety, feeling depressed, or are you being troubled with intrusive thoughts or symptoms such as chronic tiredness, or have you chronic pain such as fibromyalgia? I, Dr Maureen Stevenson, am a retired GP who has trained in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. I find that many people have been traumatised in their lives, and suffer both mental and physical symptoms following these traumatic experiences. Many of us have suffered developmental trauma, this can leave us more susceptible to be adversely affected by difficulties later in life. Sensorimotor Psychotherapy can help us heal and find new hope.
I aim to counsel in a gentle and effective way to help you make life changes, that encourage healing and provide new opportunities for living a more content life. As we remember situations our body reacts to the memory, often subconsciously. We will look for these reactions in the body & curiously study them to see the beliefs & emotions that need to heal.
