We might look at relationship patterns through out your life and help you gain awareness and understanding of how these play a part in your mental wellbeing.
Are you struggling with big emotions? Fear, pain, or maybe you feel empty, numb and unable to get going? Do you feel trapped by your relationships, circumstances or suffer with a lack of confidence to make a change? You may be grieving the loss of an important person in your life. Throughout our lives we have many ups and downs, losses and big changes. Sometimes we can feel alone in our problems. You might feel unable to share some of the thoughts and feelings that you’re having with others due to feeling that you may be criticised, ridiculed or misunderstood. Depression can make us feel disconnected from others and alone in life.

I have a special interest in working with the effects of little-t trauma (ie, events which exceed our capacity to cope such as loss, relationship breakdown, neglect, bullying, abuse or abrupt changes in our environment).
I am a qualified Supervisor, . Counsellor and Therapist with experience working with adults, couples and young people in schools. If you’re facing distressing or traumatic experiences, I can support you explore your thoughts and feelings to make sense of what's going on and consider how things can change. I work on a short or longer term basis. I know that, sometimes, talking can be difficult; our unconscious thoughts get in the way of change and I’m able to offer body or creative therapeutic solutions as well.

I am an integrative psychologist, psychotherapist and sexologist and my training has followed this route because I believe the way we come to understand ourselves develops dynamically in formative years in relationship with our parents, extended families and more broadly the cultures in which families are embedded. In short, we come to know who we are in relationship with other people. That also means that most of our difficulties and adaptive skills - which often cause difficulties later on are formed as we navigate the different demands of these environments too. Becoming aware of these challenge the way to improved mental health.

I am an experienced Counsellor, specialising in Couples counselling and relationship issues.
Are you living with feelings of self- doubt, blame, anger or shame? Do you need help to cope with depression or anxiety? Maybe you have suffered loss, and doubt your ability to sustain meaningful relationships with family and friends. Perhaps you are in a relationship that is stuck in the rut, or mired in hopelessness, negativity, and mistrust. It may be that your relationship has changed from a loving one to one of repeated misunderstandings, heated arguments or frosty silence. Stressful life events can bring about such difficulties, or sometimes disappointments simply accumulate over time.

Relationship Issues Counsellors
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
