Hello, my name is Indre and I am a qualified counsellor in advanced training in psychotherapy. I work short-term or long-term depending on an individual's needs. As a Transactional Analysis psychotherapist, my goal is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space for clients to explore and understand their experiences, emotions, and behaviors. I believe that our relationships with ourselves and others play a crucial role in our mental and emotional wellbeing. In my work with clients, I emphasize a relational approach, which means that I view therapy as a collaborative process where we work together to gain insight and understanding.

My way of working is safe, experiential, relational and reflective.
Hello and welcome. I’m here to help you find the inner strengths you need to unblock what’s troubling you and move on with your life. My clients tell me I’m warm, kind and insightful – which is good, because my main aim is to offer a safe, welcoming place where you feel willing and able to consider making changes. Most of us aren’t used to reaching out for professional support. We’re brought up to think asking for help can be a sign of weakness. But whatever you’re facing, working together with a professional therapist can let you see a way forward.

Together we can work on issues such as anxiety, depression, burnout, stress management, career decisions, self esteem, relationships, bereavement, trauma, relational trauma.
I am a fully qualified Psychotherapist (Msc, CTA with distinction) and Psychotherapeutic Counsellor (PG Dip Psych) I work both long term and short term with individuals and couples. People approach therapy for many different reasons. Sometimes it is just to get clear about a past experience or to change a habit. Often I have found that identifying blocks and emotional obstacles that stand in the way of a client living their full potential is the core of the work we do together. I offer a variety of techniques which can assist in removing those obstacles so that you can reach your goals and nurture a loving relationship with oneself

These early relationships have an impact on people's present behaviours, affects and relational patterns.
My clients choose to see me to help them address specific issues or to explore their thoughts and feelings in particular moments in their lives. Whatever the reason I offer them a confidential space where they can allow themselves to open up as much as they are comfortable with. Often issues are linked to self-esteem, self-worth and the difficulty to fully accept oneself. Clients are often able to become more confident in themselves and in relationships as they learn how to be more compassionate and kind to themselves. Therapy can help clients become happier, more fulfilled and successful in their life journey.

I draw on various therapeutic approaches integrating relational, psychodynamic and humanistic therapy, which includes person-centred, gestalt and transactional-analysis.
We all experience times of uncertainty, loss and change and I believe we all benefit from sharing our burdens with someone else, in a safe and non-judgemental way. I understand seeking psychological support can feel scary but my approach is open, warm and accepting. I work collaboratively with people, treating all information in the strictest confidence. My aim is to empower each person to develop their own skills, building resilience to manage difficulties, in the present and going forward.

Perhaps all in life is well, but there's an underlining feeling that "something is not right" or "I'm just not happy". This might be the point at which we turn within and ask ourselves some questions... In my experience, it can take some time and space to make sense of our thoughts and feelings and to discover what is truly important to us in our life.

1 space (Feb 24 coming free): I am a fully qualified Integrative Psychotherapist and a Psychosexual and Relationship Therapist, working with couples and individuals. I understand how overwhelming it can be trying to choose a therapist. I find a chat on the telephone is often a good place to begin. My website should offer a sense of who I am and how I work helping people feel a bit more comfortable about the process. A really positive therapeutic relationship can be transformative, it is a relationship and I really care about my clients and their outcomes. Your goals, and way of being will shape the way we work together.

Welcome. I know life can be overwhelming at times, and cause a great deal of distress. This presents in a multitude of ways, sometimes as unhelpful behaviours, or destructive patterns in relationships to others and with ourselves. Maybe you are searching for renewed purpose, depth, and meaning to your life, or trying to make sense of things after a profound loss that has ripped the ground from under you. Therapy can offer the space for growth and exploration, a shift in perspective, more clarity and a better more fulfilling relationship with yourself.

Relational Counsellors

How does relational therapy work?

Relational therapy was developed by psychologist Jean Miller, whose ideas stressed that having strong connections with others encourages better health and well-being when compared with a lonely existence. Conversely, poor interpersonal relationships do not foster growth and learning. Relational therapy also encourages trust in others and patience with others, along with better communication and less conflict.

Is relational therapy evidence-based?

Relational therapy is not well-studied, and it may not be as effective in treating certain mental health conditions when compared with evidence-based treatments like cognitive behavioural or acceptance and commitment therapy. However, relational therapy uses techniques found in cognitive behavioural therapy as well as psychodynamic therapy, which are both well-studied with empirical research.

How long are people typically in relational therapy?

Clients may see improvement after a few weeks or months of therapy. Like cognitive behavioral therapy, relational therapy can reduce symptoms within 10 to 20 weeks, at 45 to 50 minutes once a week. But like any type of therapy, improvement depends on the person and the severity of the problem.

Does relational therapy work?

While no therapy type will work for everyone, some evidence suggests that this therapy can be effective. Relational therapy can help a person manage problematic relationships as well as the mental health conditions that accompany difficult relationships like depression or anxiety. This therapy type may offer benefits that are hard to measure but can be just as valuable—including feelings of higher self-worth or healthier connections with others.
