I am an art psychotherapist and emdr practitioner and work across Cornwall witha office also in truro. I have over 10 years experience working with people (adults and children) who have experienced abusive relationships , addiction, self harm, those questioning gender, additional needs, anxiety, depression, confusion, sensory needs , behavioural difficultys in children and s.e.n . I work in a person centered way meaning my sessions are client led, I have a large range of art materials to help clients express themselves and understand there own inner world using both verbal and nonverbal communication.
Art therapy means using art materials ( if you want to ) to look at your feeling and past experiences to help to understand your inner world. This can be extreamly powerful and reveal parts of your self that the client has tryed to forget or has been ignoring for some time. however if you do not want to make art that is ok also.
