Hello and welcome, I have experience in many different client issues, to name some- self harm, relationship difficulties, body dysmorphia, gender dysphoria, neuro diversity, relationship difficulties, bereavement, miscarriage, infertility, addiction and trauma. I have a strong grounding in eating disorders, LGBTQ issues and sexual abuse. You may use the space how you wish to and I will be alongside you, supporting you along the way to find your own answers and come to your own solutions, conclusions and understandings. I wouldn't offer you advice but would facilitate what you would like to work on and what you wish to explore.

We all meet challenges, issues and pinch points in our lives and I am no exception. Whether it be making important decisions, dealing with loss, coping with challenging experiences/trauma, low confidence/self esteem it can be difficult to navigate our way through to lead our lives the way we want. You may be considering or are ready to make a change. Change could mean; reducing stress, coping with life in healthier ways, building confidence/self esteem, coming to terms with change/loss or just about anything that helps you move in your desired direction. As a very experienced Counsellor (qualified 1998) and Physical Therapist (Pilates Instructor qualified 1984) I have an innate interest in and deep respect for people. My mission has been to support and work with my clients in assisting them in achieving their healing and wellness. Often it helps to be listened to and it is important to understand why things are the way they are. Perhaps you feel "stuck"and are at a loss to know how to deal with a difficult situation - or it may be that you are having difficulties in relationships with other people.

I am a qualified, registered senior accredited counsellor and life coach and my style of working is integrative which means that I am trained to use a range of counselling skills to support you. With over 18 years experience working as a psychotherapeutic counsellor both privately and for the NHS, I have developed a special interest in working with depression and anxiety, stress, relationship issues and difficulties, addiction, long term and life limiting illness, bereavement and loss. I am an integrative counsellor, HCPC registered Music Therapist and Neurologic Music Therapist, with a MSc in Psychology of Pathological addictions, and further training, amongst others, in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Metacognitive Therapy. Currently, I'm finalizing my MSc in Clinical Psychology. Within a holistic person-centred approach, I include in my practice techniques based on mindfulness and breathwork, and, as a Registered Nurse, I bring a well-rounded understanding of health and patient care into my practice.

Newid pronounced "Nowed" is Welsh for change. I chose this name not only to reflect my heritage but also to reflect that change is the only constant in life. We all travel with it, yet all our experiences can be profoundly different. I believe that counselling is a collaborative process in which we work together on what you want to change or explore in a safe non-judgemental environment. I offer an integrative approach where we work side-by-side to understand your past and help you discover new ways of coping and moving forward. I recognise that courage is not fearless and making the 1st step can be challenging in it's self.
