Having worked in the care profession all my life, my goal was always to help people to improve their lives. I completed my training as a counsellor some years ago and now work primarily in a volunteer capacity though I keep some time to work privately. My focus about helping people hasn't changed. I will want to listen carefully to you and what you want though some people take time to understand their needs and often have little idea how to go about it.
My focus is always on what it is that concerns or distresses the person in front of me , what they want to work and how they want to deal with their problems. Though my basic training was in the systemic approach I am interested in other ways of working and will use a range of models of practice.
