Although older than many, I bring decades of life experience to my counselling. I have experienced most 'rites of passage' and find that my experience enables me to work sympathetically and non-judgmentally with my clients: there's nothing you can tell me that will shock me! We will work together in a welcoming, confidential environment to enable you to better understand your experiences, needs and the options open to you. With my support, you will be able to share your difficulties, worries and fears, developing a greater understanding of yourself, your situation and those long-standing difficulties that you struggle with.
My degree, Systemic Counselling, is the study of interactions: parent/child, spouse/partner, boss/employee. Relationships can be difficult, and the joys and sorrows caused by them affect us all, so this is an important part of my work. I also specialise in all forms of trauma (adverse experiences) and anxiety/depression. I have enhanced DBS clearance.
As an older, married woman, I appreciate the unseen, distressing situations life throws at us. My work with you will enable you to understand and move on from an emotionally unprofitable place. My spiritual orientation is Humanistic/Christian, but this doesn't intrude into the counselling session unless the client introduces the topic.
