Hello, I am Janette. I am a UKCP and BACP-registered psychotherapist. I meet with individuals and couples in person from my practice in Nottingham, and remotely, using the Zoom platform. I gained my MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy at The Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute and Staffordshire University. I understand how for many people, the decision to seek therapy can feel like a daunting experience, and so I aim to make you feel as comfortable and at ease as possible from the very first session. I welcome the opportunity for us to meet.

I am the founder and Clinical Lead at Therapy Nottingham, a pioneering Integrative psychotherapy service based in Nottingham city centre. Clients often have a strong sense that 'something is wrong' without knowing the exact nature of it. I am a BACP registered counsellor. I am committed to providing a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space for clients to help explore issues that are troubling them. My experience includes working as a therapist for the NHS both in general mental health and counselling patients with chronic health issues. I also have specialised experience of working with depression, PTSD, couples counselling, family issues, bereavement, anxiety and suicidal clients. Dr Bernard Horsford, PhD, D Occ Psych, MBA, M.Sc, LLB, BA, DipAdEd, DipM, FCIPD, MAPM, MIoD, FIC, MAE, C Psychol, AFBPsS I have worked as a psychologist in a variety of clinical settings dealing with occupational, clinical and forensic issues. In these settings, I have provided individual and group therapy, crisis intervention and psychological assessment services. I have an extensive background in working with culturally diverse populations. My practice is geared towards adolescents and adults grappling employment, personal, family work, educational or health issues.

Please note my practice is a women only service. I am a Counsellor/Psychotherapist, Dramatherapist, Supervisor, Equine Facilitated Psychotherapist, Trauma Therapist and EMDR accredited practitioner with more than 20 years experience of working with a variety of presenting issues including complex PTSD. I can support clients with a number of difficulties and have extensive experience in supporting clients on the ASD spectrum. I am also trained in CBT, PCE-CfD and DBT therapy, Couple Counselling, MBCT and Mindfulness. All my training enables me to support clients through difficulties that classical talking therapy might not be able.

Here at The Psychotherapy Room our aim is to ensure that we provide an accessible service to those who may not be able to afford it in the heart of Derby City Centre.
