People come to therapy for many different reasons and you don’t have to be in a crisis. Therapy can involve talking about emotions, difficult events and/or relationships, it can also be about behaviour change or dealing with negative thoughts. When describing the way I work, I often say, it is like two people going for a walk, along the walk, you may notice things and I may notice things, so together we bring these observations into awareness, to explore and process them. Yes counselling can be challenging, only with that challenge, from my experience it can also bring great rewards.
I have been in private practice working across all age groups for many years and have experience working with people at different stages of their lives. With over 20 years experience, training and qualifications in working with children and young adults, and adults I am familiar with the challenges and difficulties that these age groups may have.
