About
Counselling can help you work through troubling emotions, thoughts or behaviour. This might include recurring thoughts, anxiety, depression and compulsive or unwanted behaviour. Counselling can also provide a space for those who wish to explore issues from their past including childhood and how these may be impacting them today. Sometimes clients find a few sessions just having the space and time to voice their concerns helps them to clarify things and make connections. Other clients will want to look more deeply into their past and current issues and may require more sessions. I work with individual adults (aged 18+).
I aim to form a genuine, non-judgemental relationship with my clients. I provide a safe space where I will listen with interest and empathy to whatever clients bring. We will work together at the client’s pace to navigate a way through their issues and concerns using an integrative approach which draws on a range of theories and models to suit each client.
As the client-counsellor relationship is central to effective counselling I offer a free initial 40 min consultation so you can decide if you are comfortable working with me. Face-to-face counselling takes place in a comfortable garden room. Online, telephone and email counselling also available. I offer a reduced rate for students on a counselling course.
