However, when in crisis we need more than talking to our friends and family who may not always know how to listen without giving well meaning advice or simply may not know what to say. I have over 30 years experience of working with children, young adults and parents, firstly as a teacher and then as a therapist, supervisor and clinical lead within the NHS. Perhaps school feels hard; sticking to rules is tricky; making friends is a struggle - all of these things can be explored in therapy.
