My passion is working with individuals to help them overcome obstacles and become a healthier, happier version of themselves. All of us struggle with mental health difficulties at some point in our lives and so I believe that therapy should be seen as an act of self-care, just like looking after our physical health. Addressing mental health concerns can be overwhelming and it may be difficult to know where to start. Working together with a therapist helps you to identify the cause of your problems and break these down into more manageable chunks. I provide a safe, supportive environment for you to start to make positive changes.

Are you struggling with a sense of meaninglessness, isolation and hopelessness, leading to feelings of fear and anxiety? Often we seek therapy when we start to become aware of being stuck in the same old patterns but have no idea of why or how to change things. Perhaps you are facing significicant challenges in your life - major life changes like divorce, redundancy, bereavement, illness or loss and you're stuggling to navigate your way through it? Or perhaps you are trying to cope with the effects of past trauma. Life has become unbearable and you're struggling to find a way forward. You want and need something to change?

I am an integrative counsellor and counselling tutor trained in psychodynamic, person-centred and CBT approaches. I offer both short and long-term counselling to adults in the form of face to face, online, phone and ‘walk & talk' sessions. Using an integrative approach enables me, with my knowledge and experience, to adapt my therapeutic model to suit my client's needs, enabling change in the most beneficial way possible. Underpinning all my therapeutic work is the knowledge that it is ultimately the quality of the relationship between client and therapist - that's you and me - that heals.

It takes courage to become truly and confidently oneself. I combine modern therapeutic practice with a mindfulness based approach, which uses the deep relationship between body and mind to bring back mental, emotional and physical balance. I use a a mixture of counselling and yoga combined as needed, to address imbalances of mind and body. Yoga therapy will help you to: develop insight into what is happening inside you, psychologically and emotionally. cultivate the presence of mind to be able to feel your way into uncomfortable experiences and disarm them, calm the nervous system and enhance autonomy and well-being.

Hello Im Jen, and something brought you here to this page today.... Maybe you feel you need someone to talk to about what it is you are experiencing and feeling. Someone whose going to be there to support you and work closely alongside you to help make sense of it all. Maybe you are unsure what it is going on for you right now, but you just know you need help... Quite often people report that after counselling they have felt greater awareness and understanding. Like one of those ' Aha!' moments when you discover something for the first time. This leads to empowerment and gives us a clearer road map of something to work towards.

I've found that most people who come to see me are struggling with some form of anxiety or stress, low self worth and/or depression (which they quite often don't recognise until we complete an inventory!) Worrying about what people think about them, anxious about social events, stressed at work, struggling to juggle everything and taking it out on family members, angry at the injustice of it all, feeling worthless and a lack of hope and teary. These are just some of the things that are creating problems in their lives until they come to see me and we create a shift by developing a rational, helpful mindset! Changing the beliefs.

As an integrative, existential-analytic psychotherapist, my therapeutic approach is based around self-exploration and of deepening our understanding, not just of the issues we are experiencing but also of ourselves as a whole.

How can I find a therapist in PL8?
Search for nearby therapists or counsellors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or postcode; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or postcode into the search bar.

Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online or over the phone can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your postcode.
What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counsellor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counsellors are all licensed mental health professionals. In many countries, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counsellor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counsellors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
What type of therapist is right for me?
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counsellor who can offer short-term, targeted support.
Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counselling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.
What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
