Therapy offers a confidential and sacred space to think, feel and to know your true self. It explores your needs, thoughts and feelings associated with those needs as they arise. From this comes clarity and awareness. I think of it as coming out of the dark and into the light. Being truly listened to supports this helping you hear yourself and reveal all that matters to you. Activating the development of inner strength, confidence, resilience, resolve and purpose. You fearlessly open to change when released from the felt wounds you have been carrying, such as sadness, grief, confusion, anger, worry, regret or anxiety.

Do you feel at a crossroads—perhaps stuck, overwhelmed, or weighed down by emotions that you can’t quite make sense of? You may be feeling anxious or low, struggling with a recent loss, processing difficult past experiences, or simply sensing that something in your life needs to change. You might be navigating a life transition, facing burnout, relationship difficulties, or feeling as though you’re living on autopilot. Sometimes, there’s no clear label for what’s wrong—just a sense that things could be better.

The therapeutic relationship is a place where two human beings can connect on a deeper level to what we may experience in some aspects of day-to-day life, and to really begin to unpick the challenges that you may be experiencing. The chance to sit with another person, to talk, be free from judgments, in a safe and non-threatening environment can be truly life changing. It is an opportunity to feel seen, heard and understood, without the other person having an agenda for how they would like you to be. As well as my work online I am able to see clients face to face at Horizons Counselling service in Plymouth.

Meet Our Counsellors

I have worked as a Relate Counsellor since 2013 specialising in couples, family and individual counselling. As a neurodivergent individual with a neurodivergent family I developed a special interest in neurodivergence including Adult ADHD and Adult Autism. I completed additional post graduate training to assist me in supporting individuals and couples in understanding the differences in the way the brain operates between neurodivergent and predominant neurotypes with the aim of building better and stronger relationships.

When events in life are overwhelming we can feel frozen, scattered or out of connection with ourselves. Coping mechanisms which served us at one point can become redundant & damaging, leaving us stuck in patterns of self destructive behaviour.

I am here to help you to start to move forward with more awareness of what’s going on for you and a way to build self-compassion and inner resources. I'm especially (but not exclusively!) interested in supporting older women - peri, mid, or post-menopause . This time is so tricky with the physical changes you'll be experiencing and the changes in your inner world. You may be less tolerant of what seemed ok before! So many women I speak to talk of feeling lost, wondering "what now?" If you've had children they're also likely to be flying the nest just around this time. I offer the space to sit back, be, let it all out and regroup,

There are times in our lives when we notice that we don’t feel ok and that we need to move from that place, but don’t know how. In these times, counselling can offer a safe, private and confidential space to notice and share anything which doesn’t feel ok. It offers room to take care of, and notice ourselves. Only you can know best. I feel that through the relationship of counsellor and client we can work to notice or re-notice yourself. We might also find new ways of learning to cope with the pressures of life, or re-find old ways of supporting yourself that you have forgotten. (We can work creatively if you enjoy that).

People have come to see me due to specific issues or challenges in their lives. Others want to work on other areas or growth and many feel unfulfilled and not sure what the future holds. Sometimes experiences from the past or present bring worries for the future creating repetitive, unhelpful thoughts. I believe you have the ability to understand, make changes and control how you choose to live your life. Whatever is brought into a session, we will work together at a pace that you want to understand what is going on.

I have a lot of respect for anyone who chooses to begin counselling. It takes courage to be open with someone, and I don't take that for granted. I'm an integrative counsellor, and I try to avoid using pointless jargon... It's all about connection. As well as offering online counselling sessions, as a lover of music, I also offer therapeutic songwriting sessions from my home in Totnes.
