If you’ve been experiencing issues in your life that you’re struggling with, and feel you would like to talk to someone, I can help you explore these things in a caring, confidential space. Person-centred counselling is a way of creating a counselling relationship where you can experience warmth and acceptance, empathic listening, and genuineness, which will enable you to access hitherto untapped resources in yourself. It is a relational therapy - together, we look at different parts of your story and experiences, and together we create the conditions that lead to positive change for you.
There are many different issues that people have brought to counselling that I have worked with. These include (but are not limited to) relationship issues, work stresses, substance abuse, addictions, the results of trauma, anxiety, depression, social isolation, shame. But sometimes, we can't even put our finger on what it is exactly that is troubling us.
It can simply be a vague sense of unease or of aloneness, or emptiness, or dissatisfaction. It can sometimes be difficult (and indeed is usually an act of great courage, although it may not feel like that) to make the decision to seek help – this can frequently be the hardest step. Please come and make contact if you think that I might be able to help.
