Hi, my name is Peter. I strongly believe people have the strength and power within themselves to accomplish the things they want and make the personal changes themselves, though they may just need a springboard or someone to hear them out. Thus, my approach is to put the client at the centre of their therapy, tailor my support to the client's needs, putting control back in the client's hands. I'm a qualified, BACP registered, Person-Centred counsellor - with elements of Integrative and Relational approaches.
I can support client ranging from:
Anxiety
Depression
Grief/Bereavement
Fatherhood struggles
Trauma (though not Trauma-orientated therapy)
Relationship issues
Addictions
Suicidal Ideations
And much more
I welcome and give a safe space for Suicidal Ideations - though I am NOT a crisis specialist.
My aim for becoming a counsellor was to help people through their mental and emotional struggles as well as be someone alongside them in their journey of personal growth and offer support that does not align with common medicalised approaches (i.e. "YOU are the problem and you need fixing").
