Do you feel you never fit in? Are you autistic, Aspergers or ADHD, or suspect you might be? Or perhaps you are a loved-one to someone who is? Do you struggle with socialising, making friends and coping with work colleagues? Do you wish you could just be yourself, without having to try so hard all the time?

Are you a single parent? Struggling with feelings of isolation, exhaustion or anxiety? Tired of doing the workload of two people, and worrying about getting it 'right' for your children? Talking things through with someone who's been there can help. As a single parent myself, I really understand how exhausting (and often lonely) it can feel doing things on your own. Because of this, mental health struggles such as anxiety, depression, burn out and low self esteem can be common place. You are literally taking on the mental and emotional workload of two people!

You'll have the benefits of being outside and some people find it easier to talk about difficulties using walk and talk appointments. I also offer telephone appointments. I provide a free 30 minute telephone conversation to find out what help is needed and to answer any questions. Having a conversation can also help you decide who you would like to start therapy with.

Having undergone therapy myself I appreciate the importance of finding a therapist whom is able to facilitate a safe, warm and confidential environment to support the exploration of your story. I have worked with an array of clients whom have accessed therapy for varying reasons that they feel are inhibiting them from living an authentic life. My role within the therapeutic relationship is to work alongside an individual to facilitate self-exploration and consider alternative routes that may lay before them. I offer individual, group, relationship and family therapy. Please follow the link to my website for further information about these services in more detail. I have extensive knowledge of addiction in all of its forms and have worked with both those in the depths of their addiction as well as those whom are in recovery and have also supported friends and family members too.

I never set out to work with a specific kind of person, however, around 70% of my clients tend to be women aged between 30 and 45. They worry, feel stressed and not good enough. They often find themselves saying 'what if' all the time having lost their zest for life without any knowledge of why! It might be triggered by past traumatic events, the challenges of juggling life, family or work. These feelings might be a new, unexplained experience or they may have been around for decades. Does this sound like you? Even if this doesn't, you may be like the other 30% of people I work with, and you matter too!

Our feelings play a huge role in our overall health, directly affecting our thoughts and actions every day. When we feel out-of-sorts, we may experience difficulties in managing life’s challenges, including the choices we make and how we relate to others. Sometimes making simple decisions can feel overwhelming and we can be very hard on ourselves as a result.

Hi, life has been trying for most of us in the last few years and we can find ourselves facing situations, that in the past we dealt with reasonable ease but now can seem difficult to resolve. Are you struggling with bereavement, loss, relationship issues, worries, repetitive thoughts? Or do you just need a safe place to be and reflect; being able to talk things through with someone impartial and non judgemental, to listen to you, to find a solution to the issue you want to resolve.

Life is tough. The world can be a very harsh and unforgiving place indeed. Above all I work with kindness, acceptance and understanding - successful therapy always depends upon a partnership between you and me, both/all of us working purposefully together to solve the issues that are in your way - let's face it, there is simply not enough of those three qualities around these days. It is never a failure to reach out for help - never. It takes courage. So please reach out: I promise to take your hand, keep you safe, and together we'll walk the path to better days.

How can I find a therapist in PE19?
Search for nearby therapists or counsellors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or postcode; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or postcode into the search bar.

Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online or over the phone can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your postcode.
What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counsellor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counsellors are all licensed mental health professionals. In many countries, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counsellor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counsellors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
What type of therapist is right for me?
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counsellor who can offer short-term, targeted support.
Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counselling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.
What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
