Hi my name is Pauline and I am a qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist (full member of BSCH) and Counsellor (registered member of BACP) specialising in Addictions and the issues related to the addiction and the probable cause. When we are at the stage where we are googling Counsellors then this is usually because we are hoping to get the right person we will gain rapport with. The right Counsellor will allow us to open up completely about issues that we have been bottling up inside us for whatever reason. We want to be able to talk freely and easily without being judged by that comment or look that straight away makes us close up and squash those unwanted feelings and thoughts back down into their box again because, maybe, we feel ashamed and guilty. We want the issue to be dealt with in a non judgemental manner. We want that someone who will enable us to feel that we are OK. That it's not all our fault and will help us find a solution.
I have worked for the past 13 years in substance misuse, am a qualified Hypnotherapist and have completed two years of a MSc in Addiction Psychology and Counselling. I use an Integrative approach as I do not believe one size fits all. I prefer to personalise my approach accordingly to the individual needs of each client at that time.
