Working with couples and individuals. I appreciate the connection between physical health and psychological well being. I work with a variety of issues including anxiety disorders and trauma especially relating to relationship issues and sexual assault/abuse, sex problems and sex addiction. OCD and hoarding as well as panic disorders are also areas of interest. I have extensive experience of discussing sensitive and intimate topics with people, including issues relating to sexual identity and sexual assault/abuse.
The type of counselling I offer is called Psychodynamic Therapy. This means we focus on the unconscious thought processes which are reflected in your behaviour. I also use creative therapies to help clients who may have difficulty verbalising their past experiences. My approach is caring and professional and counselling is totally confidential.
Your first session will last for 1 hour and together we will assess what you hope to gain from counselling. Subsequent sessions last for 50 minutes. Sessions take place in my comfortable and private consulting room in Birch which is a 10 minute drive from Colchester and will be held at the same time each week. I am available evenings and weekends.
