I am a transpersonal practitioner trained at the Psychosynthesis Trust. Transpersonal encompasses mind, body and spirit in the therapy process. It is primarily a talking therapy but it also involves experiential exercises, visualisation and guided meditation. Before I trained in psychotherapy I spent many years in the creative industries, where I became very familiar with anxiety and stress related conditions. I also have twenty years experience of working with alcohol and substance misuse. I work with anxiety, trauma, panic attacks, relationship problems and difficulties that occur in coping with everyday life.
Although psychosynthesis is a 'talking therapy', its more than just talking. I work with a number of techniques depending on the client's needs and presenting issues. Most importantly I hold a 'bifocal' view of my clients; I am not only considering what they are presenting, I am also looking for the positive thing that is emerging from their disturbance.
Your natural ability to cope, and your own inner-wisdom, may have become buried beneath layers of trauma and stress caused by living in a demanding and increasingly mad world. The way you see the world today will be influenced by your experience of the world and this is what we will explore.
