As a person-centred Play Therapist I accept every child as they are, meeting them at their unique developmental level. If difficult things have happened to a child, and they're feeling anxious and unhappy, then play therapy could be a gentle way to overcome this. Gradually, most children I work with start to feel more empowered, and grow in self-awareness. The therapeutic space between me and my clients, also the very young ones, is confidential and safe. Children will feel relaxed enough to play what they cannot say; over time they will process their feelings, and play their way to feeling better.
Play Therapy is a child-led form of psychotherapy. I offer connection, empathy, playfulness and understanding within a therapeutic setting in Skipton. Teletherapy (online sessions) are an option too if required. I am also available to coach parents in growing their bond with their children, in a therapeutic way.
