Hello. I am a highly experienced trauma-focused counsellor with over a decade of dedicated work at Rape Crisis. I specialise in helping individuals cope with the profound impact of rape and sexual assault regardless of when it occurred. Trauma can manifest in various distressing and isolating symptoms such as flashbacks, sleep disturbance, anxiety and hyper-vigilance. I employ techniques such as psychoeducation and stabilisation to empower you to manage symptoms and regain control of your life.
I can help you process and understand your experience. Survivors of sexual violence often struggle with feelings of guilt and shame which can hinder their path to recovery. I offer a safe and supportive space to explore these emotions, help you understand them and guide you towards healing.
Deciding to talk about an experience of sexual assault can be very challenging. I understand this and am committed to working at your pace. You will never be pressured to recount your experience unless this is something you choose to do. Recovery is possible without this. I am here to support you in achieving your goals and living your best possible future.
