"I am a qualified integrative therapist and offer 1:1 counselling and psychotherapy in Bristol. I have a PGDip in Integrative Counselling awarded by the Minster Centre in London. My approach is integrative, which means that I draw on psychodynamic, relational and humanistic schools of thought, theories and ways of working. This allows the therapy to be a creative and collaborative process; I'm an advocate of no one-size-fits-all. "There are times when life is a struggle, obstacles block your path, feelings can be confusing, stressful and overwhelming. You may feel stuck or like you are going around in circles and are unsure of which way to move forward. At the same time there may be a sense there is more to life, more contentment, more ease, more joy, but you may feel lost, alone and unsure of how to get there."

" We all have times in our lives when we feel overwhelmed. This can impact on our relationships and other areas of our lives. These feelings may make it difficult to reach our potential or know how to progress. Counselling offers a reflective space which is helpful for building self-awareness in order to work through past or present life challenges. I employ a flexible approach which is informed by your needs. I draw on different theories to create a style of therapy which is individually tailored to you, and your aims. I hope to provide an open and accepting, and genuinely safe and non-judgemental space to reflect without fear. "

"Scrolling through Instagram feeds and Facebook posts it seems as though everyone else has their shit together. They're all in great relationships with attractive partners, travelling, in great jobs and always meeting new people, confident, comfortable, happy, they have it all. The FOMO is palpable. While we hide away in bed feeling less and less with every unbelievable picture our friends post to Snapchat or our WhatsApp group. We have never been so connected, and we have never felt more lonely and hopeless. We have no idea how things got so bad. Work is dull, friends are absent, our family don't know or get us. Basically, we hurt. "

"Trauma affects many people. Events small and large can leave a mark on the mind and body, and distorts our feelings and behaviour in ways that are both distressing and painful. We can end up going round in circles for years in destructive or unhelpful patterns. Relationships can feel like an abnormally difficult challenge. Deep anxiety can be felt at inopportune times, and can be either disruptive or even paralysing in our lives. Panic attacks can overwhelm us when stress combines with traumatic histories."

"Since qualifying as a counsellor from the University of West of England in 2004 I have worked as a therapist within the NHS. During this time I was able to acquire great depth of experience and knowledge. The aim of the counselling relationship seeks to facilitate change, thereby enabling access to one's inner strength in order to engage in life in a more meaningful way. I now work in private practice in Bristol and Weston. In my counselling sessions I can offer a safe, confidential environment, one where you can explore things you may feel powerless to change."

"Deciding to come to counselling takes courage and this may be a big step for you. Difficult times, bereavement, abuse, trauma or abandonment can leave us with communication problems, depression, anger outbursts or panic attacks, burn out, self harm, addiction, eating disorders and other problems. Sometimes we do not even know what is wrong but we just know something is lacking. Times of crisis and uncertainty can be a turning point but some things must fall away to give space for new growth. What does this mean for you I wonder? What is underneath your difficulties, what is your soul calling for? "

Oppositional Defiance Counsellors
All children are oppositional from time to time. But their behaviour can become incessantly and openly uncooperative such that it stands out relative to other children. Oppositional Defiant Disorder (or sometimes referred to as "ODD") tends to be evidenced by frequent temper tantrums, excessive arguing with adults, the questioning of rules, active defiance and refusal to comply with adult requests. You may also see deliberate attempts to annoy or upset people, blaming of others, being touchy or easily annoyed by others, frequent anger and resentment, mean and hateful talking when upset, a spiteful attitude and revenge seeking.

These counsellors can help with oppositional defiance in BS3 or provide counselling for parents handling an oppositional defiant kid in BS3, oppositional defiant teen or oppositional defiant children in BS3.

How can I tell if a counsellor is right for me?
Counsellors and therapists in BS3 are able to work with a wide range of issues.

For example, if you're seeking a marriage counsellor in BS3 you'll find that most therapists are trained in marriage counselling or couples counselling in BS3 and couples therapy. And they welcome families for family counselling in BS3 or family therapy in BS3.
