The Decider Skills use CBT to teach children, young people and adults the skills to recognise their own thoughts, feelings and behaviours, allowing them to monitor and manage their OWN emotions and mental health. The skills are designed to help manage distress, regulate emotion, increase mindfulness, promote effective communication and help live a more skilful, less impulsive life. Participants presented that the lack of early skills training meant they had formed unhelpful habits which maintained their mental health problems. The skills aim to reduce impulsivity and increase resources, resilience, coping and confidence.

My aim is to provide you with a warm open and confidential space for you to explore any concerns that may be troubling you free from the fear of judgement in what you 'feel' you would like to bring to counselling. I will ensure you are listened to and heard with respect and understanding. Together we can work through any concerns identified so that hopefully you will feel confident to go forward with a more positive outlook of yourself and your life. Therapy is very individualised and I believe it is important to ask 'you' what it is that will help you to move to a more accepting place.

I have been practising for twenty years, first in London, and subsequently in Guernsey, in university, healthcare, workplace and private practice settings. My approach is integrative, and includes frequent use of the Cognitive Behavioural model, as well as Acceptance and Committment Therapy, and the Person Centred model. The work is non-directive and focusses on exploring, as a route to identifying new strategies for managing challenges. Issues clients present with include work stress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, abuse, low self-esteem, and managing change. I work with individuals and couples.

The emphasis throughout our work is on you and how you see and experience the world. You will have an opportunity to tell your story and gradually come to a more satisfactory interpretation of your current predicament until you find a way through. The objective is for you to become more honest and more in tune with both your limitations and possibilities. By paying attention to what is of most concern to you personally we will aim to bring your life back into harmony with your aspirations, so that you become more able to live your life to the full. This means understanding where you now, before establishing where you are going.

Online Counsellors
Online counselling is a good solution for people who do not have access to well-qualified clinical professionals in their area or who live remotely or abroad. We also refer to it as Teletherapy, online therapy or skype therapy: in short, it's simply conducting a clinical therapy session using a video or phone as the means of communicating.

It's an excellent solution for those who are immobile or find it more convenient to conduct therapy in the privacy of their own home. Or are agoraphobic (fearful of leaving their home), but still want counselling.

If you're looking for online counselling in Channel Islands or for a Channel Islands online therapist these professionals provide online therapy, skype therapy and video treatment.

How can I tell if a counsellor is right for me?
