About
If you're looking for a therapist, it's likely that something within you is signalling the need for a change. This signal might have come in many forms: anxiety, low mood, self-criticism, challenges in your work or relationships, difficult feelings about your body or questions about your identity. It may sound strange to say but I believe there's something profoundly healthy in you having been able to generate and recognise this signal as well as seek out support. I aim to support you to make meaning of what you're experiencing and in doing so, help you feel prepared to recognise and face the challenges in your life.
As well as my doctorate, I have 9 years of NHS experience with people experiencing a wide range of mental health difficulties as well as those exploring questions about sexuality, transition and detransition. I work using ideas from psychodynamic, cognitive behavioural and systemic therapies. I offer both short-term work and longer-term open ended work.
In our sessions, my approach is to be warm, gently curious and engaged. For therapy to feel useful, you need to feel safe enough to be able to share what is troubling you. Because of this, I aim to create a space in which you feel heard and supported to explore. Please do get in touch if you have any questions or to arrange an initial consultation.
