At some point everyone faces difficulty, pain, challenge, confusion & longs for change. Does any of this sound familiar to you? Sometimes friends and family can be too close to be impartial or perhaps you are not ready to share with them yet. You may find it helpful to talk about what life is like for you, try to make sense of it, explore how you would like it to be, and figure out how you can step towards choosing your definition of "better". Viktor Frankl (WWII survivor) once said that everything could be taken from you EXCEPT the freedom to choose your attitude toward circumstances, to choose your own way. Perhaps I can help.
My approach to counselling is tailored to you depending on your needs . The core of our work together is based on a safe, trusting, non judgemental space where we can get an understanding of how it is for you in your world and from there help you find a way to progess. I have been taught at Post Graduate level by expert tutors in their counselling approach, Person Centred, Psychodynamic and CBT. This has equipped me with my unique integrative style of working with my clients. As an integrative therapist working in private practice I am an accredited member of the National Counselling Society.
Our bodies tell the story of our lives, and everyone struggles sometimes. At Soul Well Counselling, we offer a confidential online and in-person service for all, providing access to therapy for good mental health and well-being. As an Integrative therapist, I believe that each person is an individual, and there is no one form of therapy that can treat each person in all situations. Each person is valued as an individual, and their therapy is tailored to their needs.
I provide a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space. Building a therapeutic relationship is important for my practice. I've been trained to work as an integrative counsellor - that means I can offer person-centered, humanistic, CBT and psychodynamic techniques depending on the client need. I normally offer an assessment appointment and then we agree a plan of the work we will do and how many sessions may be needed. I'm an Accredited member of the BACP and work to their ethical framework. I'm also an Accredited member of the NCS. I have provided around 2000 client sessions working with both adults and young people (11-18 yrs).
Hi my name is Rosa and I love to tailor a therapy for my clients, my holistic approach does not merely focus exclusively on your thinking style. Working with me will allow you to reconnect your mind body and soul so it becomes easier to understand unhelpful thinking styles which may be triggering anxiety and in turn lower your physical and emotional well-being.

If you are experiencing overwhelming thoughts and emotions or finding it difficult to make sense of your life at this time, you may benefit from my support in helping you to find clarity, move forward, cope better and enjoy life fully again.
Do you feel controlled or trapped in a difficult relationship? have you lost your identity somewhere? or still looking for "The One" but always end up in the wrong relationship? Do you keep attracting the wrong partner type? Maybe you have left a toxic (narcissistic) relationship, and not sure how to trust again, or have been psychologically / emotionally abused and still feel confused? If you don't have full understanding of why it happened, you will be unable to "move on" or find emotional freedom in a future relationship. I offer understanding, answers, helpful insight and future guidelines.

You may have hit a difficult patch in your relationship and are looking for someone to help you and your partner sort things out,
No matter how robust we are, most of us at one time or another can face difficult times due to family, work or other personal issues. Sharing the impact of these distressing times can help with finding the resources to ease distress and consider which best next steps to take. I am fully accredited with both BABCP and BACP and my approach is largely, although not exclusively, cognitive behavioural. I have a particular Interest in anxiety and in trauma work and am trained in EMDR and Trauma- focussed CBT which are the two current gold standard NICE recommended evidence based treatments in this area.
People often looks for therapy because they noticed they need to change something. Embracing change and allowing yourself to be vulnerable with a stranger can be a difficult and daunting experience. But this is the beginning of a journey that I am committed to supporting you on, every step of the way. My approach is warm, empathic, non-judgemental and respectful.
What type of mental health professional is right for me?
Some of the most common types of mental health providers in Newtownards are psychologists, licensed counsellors, therapists, and psychotherapists, all of whom diagnose mental health conditions and provide individualised treatment.
Services offered, education, and credentials vary by type of mental health professional. Each professional in Newtownards then may specialise in certain areas, such as depression, marriage counselling, or anxiety. Although many mental health providers are not licensed to prescribe medication, they may coordinate with a provider who can.
Both in-person and online therapy sessions are available from most psychologists.
How to find a specialist?
You can refine your search using the filters on this page. There are several categories you can filter by to find mental health professionals with the experience you are looking for. You may want to filter for CBT Psychologists in Newtownards, or Child Psychologists in Newtownards.
