There is no lonelier place than being in a parent, child, sibling or spouse role and feeling completely disconnected and isolated from those around you.
I am a registered Social Worker with 15 years experience in a role as a Family Therapy and Systemic Practitioner. Traumatic circumstances (eg.bereavement, addiction, illness) can disrupt the family functioning. This can result in distance being created between family members; it is my role to help families function better at home and improve communication.

After my first assessment I will work closely with my client to decide on the best form of therapy for them and decide the way forward together. I have had a passion for helping others my entire life and began counselling in 2010. My own past has only served to deepen my desire to help as I can deeply empathise with those who need it most. I believe that no one should suffer in silence and I work hard to try and guide clients to their own answers. When someone feels lost they then become confused and this is a very lonely place to be. I base my work on clearing the mist and helping clients find the answers.

I work with individuals and couples who are struggling with sexual difficulties, relationship rupture, compulsive or conflicted sexual behaviours, trauma, shame, and questions of consent, agency, and safety.
Clients often tell me they experience our work as thoughtful, containing, and deeply respectful. I offer a space where complexity is welcomed, emotions are taken seriously, and nothing needs to be rushed or forced. Alongside compassion, I value clarity and honesty, and I will gently challenge patterns that keep people stuck while remaining empathic to you.

Hello and welcome, I see you made the first, very important step. You came to realisation you have a problem and that you need professional support. I can help you to specify, name, give a meaning and assist you in your way to recovery of your mental balance while keeping you on the course you chose.I strongly believe that Clients know themselves the best, therefore are the experts of the “knowledge of themselves”; however sometimes they need support to uncover or unblock the inner resources. I encourage taking responsibility for yourself, “can do” attitude to stimulate your mental healing and growth process.

Marriage Counselling Counsellors
How does marriage counseling work?
Marriage counseling works by teaching couples concrete skills to communicate with one another and solve disagreements in healthy ways. A trained mental health professional works with both members of a couple to explore difficulties the couple may be having and helps them develop skills to address these matters. Couples who don’t have any difficulties but want to prepare for marriage may develop skills for the future.

How long does marriage counseling typically last?
Marriage counseling is a short-term form of therapy; the process may last between four and eight sessions. Other forms of relationship guidance from mental health professionals, such as couples therapy, are longer lasting, may focus on the past rather than just the present, and are tailored to the individual couple and their emotions, history, and patterns in the relationship. Couples therapy often lasts for 12 weeks or longer.

Is marriage counseling effective?
Marriage counseling helps many couples develop relationship skills that may not have been acquired or tested in a relationship; partners may be better able to communicate and address conflict following counseling. However, there are many different forms of marriage counseling, and this form of counseling does not have as strong an evidence base as other modalities such as couples therapy.

Is marriage counseling effective if only one partner wants to go?
Yes, marriage counseling can still be effective if one partner convinces the other to engage in the process. Of course, whether counseling is effective depends on the couple’s commitment to work on their relationship; however, the short-term, skills-based nature of marriage counseling makes it a relatively easy “ask” of a partner, and the hesitant individual may see its value once counseling begins.
