At some point everyone faces difficulty, pain, challenge, confusion & longs for change. Does any of this sound familiar to you? Sometimes friends and family can be too close to be impartial or perhaps you are not ready to share with them yet. You may find it helpful to talk about what life is like for you, try to make sense of it, explore how you would like it to be, and figure out how you can step towards choosing your definition of "better". Viktor Frankl (WWII survivor) once said that everything could be taken from you EXCEPT the freedom to choose your attitude toward circumstances, to choose your own way. Perhaps I can help.

I provide a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space. Building a therapeutic relationship is important for my practice. I've been trained to work as an integrative counsellor - that means I can offer person-centered, humanistic, CBT and psychodynamic techniques depending on the client need. I normally offer an assessment appointment and then we agree a plan of the work we will do and how many sessions may be needed. I'm an Accredited member of the BACP and work to their ethical framework. I'm also an Accredited member of the NCS. I have provided around 2000 client sessions working with both adults and young people (11-18 yrs).

Do you feel depressed, overwhelmed, anxious or stuck regarding how things change? I love working with people and offering space, expertise and empathy to find clarity in a moment when everything seems out of control or overwhelming. At your pace, we explore how you currently feel and begin to understand and make sense of your current experience. With knowledge of your past & in becoming aware of how current thoughts, emotions and behaviour interact and how difficulties are maintained, we'll uncover what needs to change. I then hope to empower and give you the confidence and method to make these changes.

At any time in our lives we may struggle to cope – this can be because of bereavement, breakdown of relationships, difficulties at work or loss of employment, physical illness, mental ill health such as anxiety or depression, traumatic experiences or just because we are not happy with life in general. For many of us, the COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated feelings of isolation and anxiety.

Do you feel consumed by thoughts about food and weight? Perhaps the more you try to control your eating, the more you end up binging?. Maybe you know that dieting doesn’t help but you don’t know what to do with a plan or rules to follow? Perhaps you overeat in secret or when you're alone and feel a lot of shame around it? I understand what this feels like, I struggled with disordered eating for many years and at the time neither understood it nor knew where to turn to for help. Now, I am passionate about working with women to help them break free from the misery of endless diet and binge eating cycles and make peace with food.

Self Esteem Counsellors
Self-esteem lives on a spectrum: Not enough self-regard (or low self esteem) can lead people to become depressed, or to tolerate abusive situations and relationships. Too much self-love (or high self-esteem), results in an off-putting sense of entitlement and an inability to learn from failure. And it's occasionally a sign of clinical narcissism. Quite the opposite of being shy or shyness, yet still on the same spectrum.
