Hello, my name is Niko (they/them). I am a Creative Arts Psychotherapist (accredited Dance Movement Psychotherapist and registered with ADMP UK - Association for Dance Movement Psychotherapy UK), based in Nottingham.
I am deeply passionate about the healing power of relationships and believe that community and collective care play an integral role in recovery. As a queer therapist navigating neurodivergence and disability, I am committed to offering a compassionate, holding space where clients are met exactly where they are. I welcome and honour each person’s experiences, stories, identities, and needs with respect and care.
My therapeutic approach is integrative and experiential, grounded in social justice frameworks, anti-oppressive practices, existential and phenomenological theories, and attachment and developmental psychology. I also research and advocate for trauma-informed, sensory-informed, and culturally responsive embodied and relational practices.
During sessions, movement, gestures, rhythms, metaphors, sensory exploration, and creative expression and play may become part of the process, creating new ways of making meaning and reflecting on the present experience. I am also exploring ways to bring therapy into outdoor spaces, weaving nature’s rhythms into our work together.
