Hello I'm Nicole, a humanistic integrative psychotherapist, trainer and supervisor with many years experience of working with individuaIs, organisations and groups. Twelve years ago I set up Peel Psychological Consultancy, a private counselling service and training centre in the hope that I'd be able to create a space in which the client felt, respected, accepted, supported and understood. It is my belief that relational trauma lies at the heart of most psychological distress therefore, whilst I adhere to theory and research, it is the therapeutic relationship between client and therapist that I find most important and effective.
I have a special interest in trauma, both childhood and event related incident trauma, relationship difficulties, work related stress and self development as well as the symptom relief such as dealing with anxiety and depression. As an integrative therapist I have trained in many clinical models befitting many psychological issues.
I have been told that my style is warm and open, inviting a collaborative approach. I am enquiring and at times challenging and I know when to be silent and to listen. My clients tell me that I am very real in the therapy room and I hope this to be true, whilst at the forefront of all therapeutic interaction there remains the client and their need.
