People seek counselling for many different reasons. Often it's because they are struggling to resolve something in their life, their relationships or themselves. They may be feeling stuck, weighed-down, confused, anxious or depressed. Whatever the reason, I see counselling as an opportunity to explore this in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental relationship. Through exploration, self-understanding and awareness, we can increase our capacity to be in healthy relationship with ourselves and other people. This broadens our self-perception, increasing our ability to respond in our lives in healthy, flexible ways.
As a Therapist, I use an Integrative-Gestalt approach. This means I am guided by principles of awareness, authenticity, creativity and balance. My approach is underpinned by the view that we all have the capacity to grow, to be in healthy relationship with ourselves and others, and can make positive choices. Counselling can support this process.
I offer my clients a collaborative therapeutic relationship that is warm, non-judgemental and empathic. Initially we would have a 15 minute telephone conversation (free) to discuss your reasons for seeking counselling. If appropriate we would then schedule your first appointment.
