The areas l have the most experience in working with is trauma with a focus on sexual harm, abuse and assault (including domestic abuse). Additionally, l have qualified and worked with children and young people, who have been victims of crime and so have a keen interest to support adolescents who are struggling with any of life's challenges and difficulties.
I am competent in working with people who are neurodiverse and was previously a foster carer, so would be keen to support anyone working within social services.
The presenting issues of an individual will be so varied, l work with whatever a client would like to work on.
I work in a way to suit each individual, l can incorporate creative ways of working including collage, clay work and role play. I may work somatically or with cards, sand tray, genograms or simply talking. I am led by the person and how they would like to explore their issues, challenges and process. I can include creative methods working online as well.
My aim is to firstly support the client to feel safe, as l believe little can be achieved if the person does not have a level of comfort and trust with me. I want to be transparent and honest in that l cannot 'fix' a person, but can provide the conditions to gently support and encourage a person to explore at their own pace what they would like.
