I work with adults who feel anxious, low, overwhelmed or disconnected, including those troubled by thoughts they find difficult to share. Some have tried counselling before but felt unheard or were offered advice and techniques before anyone understood what was happening. I listen carefully and take time to understand their experience from their point of view. Together, we look at what has become difficult, what may be behind it and how they have managed so far. This can help them recognise patterns, understand their responses and decide what they want to change, without following a fixed programme.
I offer integrative counselling, adapting how we work rather than following a set formula. We may explore the past or focus on what is happening now. I will listen, ask questions and be honest with you. Sessions are available in Consett, online and by telephone, with walk-and-talk appointments. I welcome clients across County Durham and the wider North East.
You may know that something is wrong without being able to explain it. Perhaps your thoughts will not settle, everyday demands feel harder or you are tired of keeping things to yourself.
