About

Dr Natalie Kanakam is a Senior Clinical Psychologist with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and a PhD in psychological medicine. She has worked with adults, families, couples, children and young people.  Natalie has worked most extensively with young people and children. She currently works at the specialist children’s hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital. She has worked with and provided Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and behavioural interventions for young people who have autism, anxiety, depression, medically unexplained symptoms and Tourette's syndrome.
Natalie has also worked with adults providing therapy for eating disorders, depression, anxiety long-term health conditions and obsessive-compulsive disorder. When working with adults in therapy, she draws on CBT, dialectical behaviour therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy approaches.
As a psychologist, Natalie hopes to provide an open and safe space where clients can explore their difficulties and life goals that they would like to work toward. She works with individual differences and identities using a non-judgemental stance that is guided for the client.  Natalie’s hopes to provide empathy and understanding for people in need.
