My approach to therapy involves working with you to help you live a more fulfilled life, create choice, and achieve greater freedom from distressing emotions. Therapeutic work allows for expression of emotions that may be distressing in response to life events and/or relationships past/present, in a supportive environment. I work in a way that is relational, considering two person interaction - emotions in external relationships can be explored together with feelings in the present moment. My specialist area is in working with mental health at all levels of severity. I use a counselling approach, and or EMDR. I work in an integrative way using different approaches to inform my practice, mainly from the psychodynamic and humanistic traditions. I further integrate use of techniques from CBT, ACT, and CFT.
My approach aims to work together on your aims/goals to build a life in line with what is meaningful and your values. I work with uncertainty of the challenges of life that many of us face, navigating the process through the development of courage, acceptance and compassion.
