Then Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (or CBT for short) might be the type of therapy for you. When we're experiencing anxiety or low mood people often describe feeling stuck in a vicious cycle. Using CBT we work together to understand what your cycle looks like and how we can break that cycle and create healthier habits and patterns of thinking. I am also qualified in delivering the Flash technique (an offshoot of EMDR) to work on and process traumatic or distressing memories.
CBT is based on a wealth of evidence and is recommended by the NHS and National Institute of Clinical Excellence to treat low mood and anxiety. Sessions start with an assessment of your main problem and setting of goals, before working on building you a toolbox of tools and techniques to help tackle your problem and the difficulties you've been facing.
