"Therapy offers a private and sacred space to think, feel and experience your true self, it explores your needs, it processes feelings, and from this comes a new clarity, and you may feel different, clearer. I sometimes think of it as coming out of the dark woods and into the light. This transforming of the self takes place at first within the therapeutic relationship. Being listened to unfolds a discovery of new insights, which activates the development of inner strength, resilience, resolve, and purpose, as it gradually releases you from the felt wounds you have been carrying, such as, anger, sadness, grief, regret or loss. "I am accepting new clients at this difficult time. I see my clients using Skype or Zoom, both work well and are straightforward to use. I am a trained Humanistic therapist, this means I am led by my client’s needs, and work to understand the unique experience of each individual that has led them to seek counselling. All clients I see want to resolve the difficulties they are experiencing and achieve improvements to their emotional wellbeing and the relationship that they have with themself and others. The skills and approaches developed over the course of my career enable me to adapt to your specific needs."

"I have been a qualified counsellor for over 14 years and have worked in many different settings including the NHS, voluntary sector and various other agencies. I am a person centred counsellor who is also trained in E.M.D.R (eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing). EMDR is very effective when working with trauma. I work with what clients need and the relationship is of paramount importance to me. Counselling can be a daunting experience as clients are talking about issues which are impacting on them and their emotional wellbeing. "

"Life is rarely straightforward and it's not always easy untangle things on your own. Psychotherapy offers the opportunity to slow down and take a bit of time to look at the conditions of our lives. From there we can start to develop awareness of how we think, feel and respond to relationships and the situations we find ourselves in. Sometimes past circumstances can come to determine how we deal with things in the present. Psychotherapy aims to help us identify patterns and choose what to change. Working through issues in this way can create more choices in how we respond to others and the circumstances of our lives. "

"At times we all feel overwhelmed by the pressures and problems of life and in such moments of crisis, perhaps through family or relationship issues, work-related stress, trauma, bereavement, anxiety or depression, we can feel stuck and unsure of the way forward. This is when counselling can help. I offer individuals and couples a secure and confidential space in which to resolve their problems. I use different methods depending on the client because we are all unique, but I always focus on my client’s present and future needs (while addressing any relevant issues from the past) so as to help them achieve their ideal solution."

"I have 27 yrs post-qualification organisational & private practice experience. I trained and worked in New York & London. As well as private practice, I have managed mental health and substance abuse services. I offer individual psychotherapy, family/couple counselling, & clinical supervision. I work to identify, activate and strengthen people's own internal resources. I combine exploring the origins of behaviours that have become self-defeating, with focusing on current coping strategies, support systems, and improving life in the present moment. Body/mind/emotions/spirit are interconnected, and attention needs to be paid to each."

Narrative Counsellors
Narrative Therapy uses the client's storytelling to indicate the way they construct meaning in their lives, rather than focusing on how they communicate their problem behaviours. PL2 Narrative Therapy embraces the idea that stories actually shape our behaviours and our lives and that we become the stories we tell about ourselves. There are helpful narratives we can choose to embrace as well as unhelpful ones. Although it may sound obvious, the power of storytelling is to elevate the client--who is the authority of their narrative--rather than the therapist, as expert. Check these therapists for find Narrative Therapy in PL2.
