My name is Kim Byng, I am a fully qualified counsellor working in Derby. I have a background in working with clients affected by domestic violence (male and female) and also with victims of crime. I work with adults around relationship and attachment issues, domestic abuse, sexual abuse, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, low self-confidence, loss, trauma, self harm, identifying patterns of relating to others, new relationships and personal growth. I generally use Transactional Analysis when working with clients, this involves inviting the client to examine their own processes and ways of relating to others so they can make changes in their lives.
In working with clients affected by domestic abuse I have a specialised understanding of relationship dynamics, this helps me work with clients who are experiencing difficulties in their relationships whether a partner or family member, when a client brings issues around developing a new relationship or when they are wishing to reconnect with family members
