Hello, I am a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, fully accredited and registered with the UKCP.
My approach is integrative, which means that I can draw on a range of therapeutic theories and methods to best support each child and young person's needs.
When a child or young person is finding things difficult, building a trusting therapeutic relationship is really important. This creates a safe foundation where growth can happen and their distress begins to ease.
I offer a warm, calm and supportive space where children and young people can explore their thoughts, feelings and experiences or whatever is on their mind.
Creative arts can play a valuable role in this process, making it easier to express themselves and make sense of what they are going through.
For some, these creative methods can help them to communicate without needing to rely on words alone; for others, talking therapy may feel more comfortable.
I adapt my approach to meet the unique needs of each child and young person that I work alongside.
