There is a quote by a lady called Anaïs Nin – “And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom" – a quote in which I firmly believe and embodies how vulnerable people feel when considering contacting a Counsellor for the first time. It is always helpful to talk to someone, especially when that someone is trained to listen and help in a specialised and interactive way. A counsellor is not there to judge you, nor are they there to tell you what to do. Instead counselling provides a safe and respectful environment to express and explore your feelings and troubles.
I’m a Person-Centred Counsellor but work in an integrative style using a number of approaches in order to offer what each client or couple needs. Being empathetic, understanding and a good listener are qualities I value in myself. I also believe having a positive relationship with clients is key in order to build trust and allow you to share your feelings.
I offer a safe, confidential, warm and respectful environment in which to hold one-to-one sessions, with parking right outside the door. I also offer online sessions via Zoom or Teams.
