About

‘There's no need to travel anywhere. Journey within yourself.’ - Rumi Hello, welcome to my profile. My name is Mobeen Akhtar, I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). If you are experiencing distress or troubles that you feel you cannot share with anyone, counselling is the right place for you. Counselling is described in different ways and in many words. What we find is that counselling is an individual experience.
It can be difficult to talk about your experiences and feelings when you cannot find ways to express yourself. There are many events that can cause distress which can be expressed in different ways such as: Anxiety; Depression ; Struggling in concentration; Change in behaviour; Irritation; Relationship issues; Low self esteem; Anger; Sadness.
You may find that in counselling we work with your thoughts and feelings to find a deeper meaning for your struggles and how you cope. Looking at past experiences from childhood and the relationships we have had with other people around us, including ourselves. It can be an uncomfortable experience to learn new things about yourself but I am here to support.
