I'm a warm, friendly, 'come exactly as you are' human being. Occasionally sweary, always empathic, with a genuine love of supporting others in healing, insight and finding their way to a happier self. I've benefitted from therapy myself and know it can feel really exposing, especially at first. Trusting another person with some of the most hidden and protected parts of yourself is not an easy thing to do. I can however assure you, that whatever you share in our sessions, will be as protected and cared for by me, as it has been by you. I also offer a free initial consultation, which may help you deide if we might be a good fit.

We all confront struggles at some stage in our lives, and overcoming these can feel like a challenge. There may be challenges with our internal world, in our relationships, or we may experience a significant life event that means we start to feel ‘stuck’. This can lead to feeling a lack of self-confidence and to feelings of self-doubt. I understand that taking that first step to talk to someone can be difficult, and thus I create a safe space that encourages you to feel supported and heard. I believe in the importance of working alongside you as part of a journey to increased self-development and overall improved well-being.

The areas l have the most experience in working with is trauma with a focus on sexual harm, abuse and assault (including domestic abuse). Additionally, l have qualified and worked with children and young people, who have been victims of crime and so have a keen interest to support adolescents who are struggling with any of life's challenges and difficulties. I am competent in working with people who are neurodiverse and was previously a foster carer, so would be keen to support anyone working within social services. The presenting issues of an individual will be so varied, l work with whatever a client would like to work on.

Hello! My name is Naomi, and I am a person-centred therapist, prior to becoming a therapist I spent many years working in corporate roles. However, I have enjoyed pivoting to a space where I still get to utilise some of those transferable skills like the active listening, the ability to lead the way towards choice and options as well as explore possibilities, alongside ones solely required for the therapeutic space.

My therapy approach has been particularly effective with clients with low-self esteem, depression, worry, OCD, trauma experiences and social anxiety. Irrespective of the presenting problem, I have found that actively listening to an individual is fundamental to any successful treatment.
