I am a fully qualified UKCP Integrative Psychotherapist with over 25 years experience. The integration is of the humanistic approaches and a development of psychoanalysis (inter-subjectivity). The humanistic approach focuses on being accepting, understanding and real and thereby creating a space, a relationship which allows someone to flourish. Psychoanalysis aims to increase insight and an awareness of how the patterns of childhood are playing out in the present. I am also strongly influenced by the existential tradition with it's emphasis on personal responsibility, choice and the profound questions of life.
I see psychotherapy as an exploration of your experience. It can help in many ways. It can help to get in off your chest. It can help to gain clarity about your dilemmas and confusions. It can help to understand yourself better and to feel understood and respected. Over time it can help you face your demons and make subtle but profound changes.
