Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Skills Programme
DBT programme consists of weekly individual therapy and skills modules in core mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation and interpersonal effectiveness. Fees for individual sessions begin at £100 and for the skills classes £75 or £85 per session. It is also possible to commit to attending skills classes alone without individual therapy. They can be attended at King's Cross or Angel (Mondays at 5:45pm, Tuesdays at 1:30pm, 4pm or 6pm, Wednesdays at 4pm or 6pm, Thursdays at 5:30pm and on Saturdays at 10am or 12:15pm).
Mentalisation-Based Therapy (MBT) Programme
MBT treatment is relevant if you have experienced any of the following: 1) difficulties regulating intense emotions that lead you to behaving in ways you don't understand, 2) chaotic relationships where you either frantically pursue or impulsively cut the other person off, 3) enormous fear of abandonment and trying to avoid it at all costs, 4) impulsive urges that make your life unbearable or lead to feelings of self-hate, 5) episodes of extreme emotional pain and attempts to stop it with self-harm, alcohol, drugs or sex, 6) rapidly changing moods for no apparent reason.
DBT Skills Class (Online)
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is one of the most researched treatments for people with difficulties in regulating their emotions. It was originally developed by Dr Marsha Linehan for self-harming individuals who met criteria for borderline personality disorder (BPD). DBT was proven effective in reducing suicidal behaviour, self-injury, impulsivity, disruptions to personal relationships and improving social functioning, eating and mood disorders, post-traumatic stress, childhood sexual abuse and substance dependency, and is now the go-to treatment for improving emotional regulation skills in those diagnosed with ADHD or ADD.
