I have practised as a Chartered Clinical Psychologist since 2002 in different clinical NHS settings (GP surgeries and hospitals), private healthcare (outpatient clinics and residential placements) and universities (therapist on randomised controlled trials). I have a wealth of knowledge, experience and specialist skills in psychological assessment, formulation, treatment and consultation. I am an accredited Cognitive-Behavioural Therapist. I am also experienced in using evidence-based techniques from Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Family Therapy, Schema-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness and Psychodynamic approaches.
I see individuals, couples and families presenting with a wide range of emotional and behavioural difficulties. I can also support people (and staff groups) suffering from the emotional impact of the Covid-19 Coronavirus and its associated traumas.
I value the importance of offering people a confidential and trusting therapeutic relationship. My insightful and empathic approach seems to encourage people to talk to me about their difficulties. Also to develop a shared understanding of how the problem(s) started, what maintains it and what would help to reduce its severity or make it disappear.
